Taking a Break

August 22nd, 2008

It was time for a break from my JS class so I took the time to play with some super cute new kits by my big sis Jeni… she’s been busy! First up: {Summer Breeze}, a collab she made with Andilynn for the July Daily Download at ScrapMatters. That’s right people, you could have gotten this whole kit for free if you had gone to the site everyday for a link! But, don’t fret, you can buy it in the shop now… well worth it since it’s jam-packed with the cutest summery goodies!

Next, I used Jeni’s {Sunshine Everyday} kit to make this page…

I just love the bright colors and fun designs. There’s so much more to this kit, you have to check it out! I had so much fun making these pages… just the break I needed. Now it’s your turn to go get scrapping!

Digi:In Deep, Lesson 3

August 19th, 2008

Another fabulous Jessica Sprague lesson completed, and this one was super fun! I’ve always wanted to know how to create the photo effect we learned and it was cool adding our real fingerprint to the page too. Anyway, here’s the end result…

I’m still behind on the album we were supposed to make last week… yes, a whole album! My next assignment though is to make another “about me” page to add to this one and make it a spread. I don’t know what else there is to say about me… sad. Anyway, off to try and get some more scrapping done!

D:ID Lesson 2

August 9th, 2008

Okay, so I’m a little behind in my Digi: In Deep class, but reading the last book of the Twilight series was soooo worth it! Anyway, I did manage to get through the second lesson and here’s the final product…

This was really fun to make because I learned so many new things like how to make my own brush (the numbers on the star and around the photo edges), how to blend 2 photos together, how to warp a shadow (so the journaling card looks curled up on the bottom edge), and more! I also just really like the concept of the LO because it’s always fun to look back and see how much your kids have grown and changed. Well, I’m off to try and catch up on some more class work… although I don’t know how you can call digi scrapping work!

Digi:In Deep, Week 1

August 1st, 2008

Well, week 1 of Digi: In Deep is over (although I still have another project to work on this weekend) and here’s what I have to show for it so far…

Assignment 1a:

I learned a lot about layer masks and different short cuts to make things go so much faster!

Assignment 1b:

The point of this one was to practice up on the skills we learned making the first LO together.  I’ve already learned so much… it’s lots of fun!

Getting Schooled

July 28th, 2008

Okay, so I just have to say how awesome jessicasprague.com is!  You can find all kinds of helps, ideas, classes, etc. over there no matter what level of digi-scrapper you are.  I recently signed up for the Digi: In Deep course (today was the first day) and after only 3 out of 10 tasks for the first assignment, I am so excited about what I’ve learned to do!  Such great short cuts and new skills I had no idea about!  It’s kind of blowing my mind right now and I’ve barely dipped my toe in the water!  Can you tell I’m excited about it?!  Anyway, just wanted to point you that direction if you’re ever interested in learning some new things and expanding your digital repertoire.  Stay tuned for some pretty cool layouts to come in the next few weeks as I learn at the feet of a true pro!
